WELCOME TO THE
North Tangipahoa Area Alumnae Chapter

President’s Message
On behalf of the members of the North Tangipahoa Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, it is a pleasure to welcome you to our official website. I am honored to serve as the 2nd President. We are committed to continuing the legacy of our twenty-two founders in providing outstanding programs through our Five Programmatic Thrust in the areas of:
-
Economic Development
-
Education Development
-
International Awareness and Involvement
-
Physical and Mental Health
-
Political Awareness and Involvement
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was founded on the campus of Howard University by twenty-two collegiate women who dedicated themselves to sisterhood, scholarship, service and social action. Our chapter is new to the Northern area of Tangipahoa Parish, but our Sorority has a prominent history which extends over 110 years in public service. The North Tangipahoa Area Alumnae Chapter was charted on February 24, 2019; with twenty-seven charter members continuing the vision of our founders.
As we stand on the principles engraved by our founders, we continue to weave the thread of servitude in the communities we serve. We are grateful to have fostered programs such as Delta Academy, Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer Awareness, Financial Fortitude, and Political Awareness & Involvement, and our scholarship program to serve and meet the needs of our communities. The pandemic impeded our visibility but did not hinder our chapter’s commitment to serve and remain impactful as we met virtually.
We look forward to working in our communities to fulfill these purposeful programs to impact the Northern Area of Tangipahoa Parish.
Thank you for visiting our website. If you have questions, please contact us at dstntaa.correspondence@gmail.com for more information.
Yours in Delta,
